1.) Prepare the Palo Santo: Hold the stick at a 45-degree angle and ignite one end using a lighter or matches. Let it burn for about 30 seconds, then blow it out, leaving a glowing ember.

2.) Set Your Intention: Before burning Palo Santo, take a moment to focus on your purpose or set an intention for the ritual.

3.) Cleanse Your Space: Hold the burning end over a fireproof container or natural material to catch ash. Allow the smoke to fill the room, paying attention to corners and areas of stagnant energy.

4.) Move Mindfully: Keep the ember glowing as you move around, gently blowing on it if needed. Avoid touching the hot end to prevent burns.

5.) Extinguish the Palo Santo: After smudging, press the burning end into a fireproof container or non-flammable surface to fully extinguish it. Ensure it is completely out before leaving it unattended.
